Abbas and Sharon Declare Separate Cease Fires in Sharm

At the end of a summit at Sharm-el-Sheikh organized by
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas declared, "We have agreed with Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon to cease all acts of violence against
the Israelis and the Palestinians wherever they are."
Employment Project for Modi'in Illit Women Gains
Momentum

An employment project for the women of Modi'in Illit (Kiryat
Sefer-Brachfeld) is gaining momentum and approaching the
implementation stages. Within two weeks another business,
Image Store, will set up a work center, joining companies
already operating in the city under a government program
called Call Center initiated by Local Council Head Rabbi
Yaakov Guterman.
Spitting in Jerusalem Fans Antisemitism in Armenia

Armenia's tiny Jewish community is growing concerned by what
it says is mounting antisemitism in the South Caucasus
country. Recent incidents of Jewish youths spitting at
Armenian priests in the Old City of Jerusalem have been cited
by those who are trying to stir up hatred of Jews in
Armenia.
Funding to be Transferred to Yeshivas Despite Budget
Delay

Through concerted efforts by Degel HaTorah Secretary MK Rabbi
Moshe Gafni, funding for the months of January and February
will be transferred to the yeshivas within the next few days
although the national budget for 2005 has not yet been
approved in its second and third readings.

The Knesset plenum rejected on Monday two no-confidence
motions submitted by opposition parties, one on the issue of

MK Ravitz Protests Failure to Rescind Budget Cut for
Chareidi Kindergartens

MK Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz sent a sharply-worded letter to Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon on Monday accusing certain government
figures of failing to meet a promise made to Degel HaTorah to
work toward reversing a harsh 15 percent budget cut for
chareidi kindergartens.
Government Unanimously Approves Plan to Advance Religious
Services

The government unanimously approved a series of proposals by
the Prime Minister's Office and the Housing Ministry intended
to improve state religious services, including the
immediately resumption of construction work on
mikvo'os and botei knesses, offsetting the
local authorities' debts to the religious councils and
transferring the funds directly and increasing the number of
positions and funding for mikveh workers.

CER Delegation Participates in European Memorial
Ceremonies

A prominent delegation from the Conference of European Rabbis
(CER) attended the Auschwitz memorial ceremonies in Cracow
and Auschwitz/Birkenau. It included the Chief Rabbi of Moscow
(Rabbi P Goldschmidt), Chief Rabbi of Ukraine (Rabbi Y
Bleich) and Cllr A Dunner, Executive Director of the CER.
Bezeq Donated NIS 2.8 Million to Charity Organizations

On every 20th of the month during the current fiscal year,
Bezeq donates 5 percent of the income from phone calls made
that day to community organizations for the sick and
needy.

The Mishkan in Everyday Life
The sections about the construction of the Mishkan
open with a call for a commitment of the heart: " . . . from
every man whose heart moves him, you should take My
terumoh" (25:2). The goal of this effort is: "And they
will make Me a Mikdosh, and I will dwell amongst them"
(25:8).
Risky Bets

The question hung for several seconds in the small room.
Larissa didn't hurry to respond, while Esther stubbornly
played with her braid. Leah motioned for them to sit and they
did so silently, slightly embarrassed. Suddenly she had a new
