Mishmeres Hasholom: A Dream World Taking Shape
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

In our day and age, there are so many people young and old walking around with one unfortunate common denominator: Strained relationships. For example, divorce and painful family feuds are all too common. The Jewish community, once enjoyed a semi-immunity to these social maladies — but no longer. The cause? There are many, but one problem is a loss of the art of communication, and with it the undermining of healthy bein odom lechavero relations.

OPINION & COMMENT

Why Study Torah?

Hundreds of thousands of people celebrated the completion of Shas, perhaps the central work of Torah and the one that gets the greatest attention among those who study Torah. These are active, busy people, and many of them are quite familiar with many of the other works that the world has to offer, they have access to and can afford the greatest products of the West — yet they spent thousands of hours studying the Talmud, and happily came together to celebrate the completion of one cycle of study and the beginning of another one.

The Shechinah Can Only Reside Through Justice
by L. Jungerman

Parshas Pekudei gives a meticulous accounting of the income, that is the donations and expenditures of the Mishkon. We see the measure of responsibility and accountability that Moshe Rabbenu felt so as to acquit himself favorably in the eyes of his fellow men, including the contemporary scoffers and maligners.

Shabbos Candle in a Cupboard
by P. Sarit

Batya added sugar to her coffee and gently stirred it. Aharon played on the white carpet together with little Tamar. The cool air of evening seeped through the half-opened door. Batya was sitting on a chair looking at the perfect house she had gotten. Who would have believed that she would have this?
