Final Siyum in Yerushalayim

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

The chareidi public eagerly awaited the siyum in honor of the completion of the 11th Daf Yomi cycle in Jerusalem on Tuesday night. Numerous gedolei Torah promised to honor the major event held in honor of Torah at the International Conference Center (Binyanei Ha'uma), including Maran HaRav Eliashiv, shlita. The siyum is being sponsored by Dirshu, the worldwide organization for the promotion of Daf Yomi study, as well as commercial sponsors Shefa Shuk, El Al, Bank Hapoalim, the Postal Authority, Kupat Cholim Me'uchedet and the Electric Corporation.

Final preparations were made last week at a meeting attended by all of the bodies involved in organizing the event initiated by the City of Jerusalem's Department of Torah Culture under the dedicated management of Rabbi Gavriel Stauber, who worked day and night ever since the decision was made to hold the event in Jerusalem.

Planning Committee representatives held a meeting with heads of the Egged Co. in Jerusalem, who said all of the bus lines leading to Binyanei Ha'uma would be boosted significantly. Hatzoloh Yisroel representatives pledged to provide a large group of volunteers to administer first aid and assistance if needed. An agreement was also signed with a satellite broadcasting company to transmit the event live to selected sites in Bnei Brak, Elad, Rechasim, Kiryat Sefer and other places with large chareidi populations, as well as a broadcast at Tamir Halls, and possibly other sites based on demand.
