Likud ministers criticized the proposed state budget for 2005 when Prime Minister Ariel Sharon presented it to cabinet this week. Health Minister Danny Naveh in particular said that it will cause great harm to the sick and the elderly.

a High Court petition against the Education Ministry
following its decision to cut 15 percent of government

kindergartens while government and government-religious

week. Current funding had been withheld as long as the new
criteria were not approved.
A group of residents from Jerusalem's Pisgat Ze'ev
neighborhood committed acts of vandalism and destruction at
the Ish Shalom government school after the municipality
decided to transfer part of the building to a Torah-based
school attended by 382 children from the neighborhood. The
City of Jerusalem is considering whether to file criminal
charges against those responsible for the incident.
