Hypocritical Attitude to Chareidi Community Speaking during the debate about three no-confidence measures, MK
Rabbi Gafni spoke about what he called the ruling coalition's two-
faced attitude towards the chareidi community and its representatives
in the Knesset.
After a long period of quiet, with the exception of one excavation in
the North one month ago that was stopped immediately, the Antiquities
Authority has now renewed digging at Golani Junction.
Hundreds of residents from Ir Yamim, Ramat Polag and Kiryat Nordau in
Netanya united to form a working committee to prevent the Ir Yamim
Shopping Mall from opening for business on Shabbos and Jewish
holidays. They contacted all of the officials involved in the matter,
demanding that the mall keep its doors shut on Shabbos.
We are very pleased to share with the public a regulation/commitment
the bnei Torah of Elad and other residents, that has led to a
big boost of thousands of hours of Torah study on Shabbos night.
After extended negotiations, the German government has agreed to a
demand by the Claims Committee to expand eligibility of ghetto
survivors to receive payments from the German national insurance
system. Holocaust survivors who worked in ghettos even not under
forced conditions will also be eligible for German national insurance
payments, as well as a one-time payment of 2,000 euros.
The Knesset Finance Committee called on Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz to increase government
assistance to small and medium-size businesses.
After having nine children who died at a young age, Reb Boruch Peretz
Meltzer zt"l and his wife Miriam Reisel a"h took it as a
good omen when on 5th Adar, 5630 (1870) their son Isser Zalman was
born. Perhaps this son, born in a month of joy, would merit a joyous,
long life.
