Veterinary Services to Crack Down on Kapporos in Jerusalem

Jerusalem's business license, inspection and Veterinary Services bureau are making preparations to operate the local kapporos markets. This year enforcement will be boosted to an unprecedented level at a limited number of sites: in the yard of former Kol Yisroel Chaveirim (Alliance Israelite Universelle) school in Machaneh Yehuda, the Bucharim Market, the Beit Yisroel Market, the Mea Shearim Market and the former municipal lot on Rechov Shmuel Hanovi.

Kippah and Tzitzis Found on Arrested Palestinians

Security forces including the Border Police's Kfir Unit and policemen from the Beit Shemesh station arrested seven Palestinians without entry permits on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway near the Latrun Interchange. A vehicle search revealed a yarmulke and tzitzis. Heavy congestion formed during the pursuit of the vehicle, based on intelligence information.
Achim Letzoroh Gemach Founded

The Achim Letzoroh gemach held a modest event to mark the launch of a new service in which ZAKA volunteers from the Tel Aviv district will recite Kaddish and learn mishnayos in memory of people who pass away childless, or for any reason have nobody to say Kaddish for them.
Transportation Funding for Sderot Students Resumed

Following an Education Ministry directive authorizing busing inside the city of Sderot and to outlying areas, 100 children resumed their bus commute to talmudei Torah and schools outside the city, bringing to an end an affair that caused Sderot's Torah-true community considerable distress.

An air of seriousness filled the room, creating a heavy, solemn mood, and not simply because the Yom Hadin was fast approaching.
