Kippah and Tzitzis Found on Arrested Palestinians
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Security forces including the Border Police's Kfir Unit and policemen from the Beit Shemesh station arrested seven Palestinians without entry permits on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway near the Latrun Interchange. A vehicle search revealed a yarmulke and tzitzis. Heavy congestion formed during the pursuit of the vehicle, based on intelligence information.
Due to initial suspicion that the Palestinians had planned terrorist activity, special forces, including Border Police forces, were summoned to halt traffic and seal the area. Once the car was located security forces ordered the Palestinians to step out and explosives experts checked whether they were wearing explosive belts.
When it was discovered the vehicle was rented, sappers were called in to check its contents. No explosives were found and the police decided to open the road. The suspects were held for questioning. The suspects arrested were five Palestinians without permits and two East Jerusalem residents, a man and a woman. The woman was carrying a yarmulke and tzitzis.
