Fatal Worldwide Flu Virus Claims Mother and Stillborn Baby in Jerusalem

By Yechiel Sever

Mrs. Brochoh Feige Williger, a mother of ten from Beit Shemesh, passed away just hours after giving birth to a stillborn son at Bikur Cholim hospital in Jerusalem as a result of the worldwide H1N1 flu virus she contracted during pregnancy.

When the woman arrived at the ward doctors immediately saw that the baby was not responding. An examination quickly revealed the woman had contracted the H1N1 flu virus and the baby was stillborn. The doctors tried to save the mother's life, but her condition deteriorated and complications developed. She was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem, but soon passed away.
