We were appalled to hear of the terrible breach in our camp
in the form of arvei shirah and concerts featuring
singers and chazanim who sing before men and women in
mixed company Rachmono litzlan and even with separate
seating.
The Jerusalem Municipality contacted principals and directors
of chareidi educational institutions in the city and
instructed them to secure funding for employees' salaries by
filing requests with the Municipal Support Payments
Committee. The municipality says that despite the Justice
Ministry's directive, employees at chareidi educational
institutions will be able to remain at their posts and be
paid.

Though we are still at the beginning of bein hazmanim
two yeshiva bochurim have already lost their lives
Hashem yeracheim.
Rabbonim and educators gathered for an emergency meeting in
Jerusalem last weekend to raise the chareidi public's
awareness of the prohibition against attending concerts, even
if arrangements for separate seating are made.
Around the world plans got underway last weekend to hold
tefilloh gatherings and protests against the
Lithuanian government for its ongoing desecration of the
ancient cemetery in Vilna.
Unidentified figures desecrated an ancient Jewish cemetery in
the city of Pisek, 100 km (60 miles) south of Prague. The
local police have opened an investigation.
Thousands of stunned Bnei Brak residents headed by roshei
yeshivos, dayonim and rabbonim took part in the
levaya of Menachem Shlomo Shapira z"l, a
yeshiva student who passed away tragically at the age of 15
on Erev Shabbos Nachamu due to dehydration during a hike in
Nachal Amud between Tzfat and Meron.

According to the Ramo (494:3) we do not say tachanun
from Rosh Chodesh Sivan until after Isru Chag (there
are other minhogim that do not say tachanun
until after the seven days of hashlomoh that follow
Shavuos).
On Rosh Chodesh Sivan we do not say tachanun like on
every Rosh Chodesh. The second of Sivan is called Yom
HaMeyuchas since after yetzias Mitzrayim Hashem
commanded Moshe to say to bnei Yisroel: "Now therefore
if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then
you shall be My own treasure from among all peoples"
(Shemos 19:5) to prepare them for Torah. Afterwards,
the third, forth, and fifth of Sivan are the Sheloshes
Yemei Hagboloh when bnei Yisroel waited for
kabolas HaTorah (Mishnah Berurah 494:8, and see
Shabbos 86-88).
We do not say vetzidkoscho tzedek on Shabbos since it
is the YOm MaMeyuchas
