erev Rosh Chodesh)...The Maharom of Korduviro would
call it Kippur Koton, since on it would be atoned the
sins of the whole month...The seforim write that even
if someone doesn't fast he should do teshuvah on this
day and remedy the sins of the whole month since this is the
last day of each month just like erev Rosh HaShannah
is of the whole year" (Mishnah Berurah 417:4).

Over 1.5 Million Israelis Live Below the Poverty Line

A total of 1.58 million people live below the poverty line in
Israel, including 25,000 children who joined the ranks of the
poor this year according to a report released by the National
Insurance Institute on Monday this week.
Court Sentences Lulav Importers to 3 Months Community
Service and NIS 30,000

Jerusalem District Court Judge Jonathan Adiel sentenced
lulav importers Avraham Balili and Jean Manshapoor to
three months of community service and a fine of NIS 30,000
($6,500) each after being convicted of taking part in a
lulav cartel seven years ago, a scandal first exposed
in Yated Ne'eman.

The Unique Yeshiva in Kfar Zeitim

Deputy Minister of the Labor and Welfare Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz
recently visited the moshav Kfar Zeitim, located near
Tiveria. He was accompanied by his senior staff. They went to
see the unusual yeshiva that was established there several
years ago for students who need other activities in addition
to learning Torah.

supermarket corporation. Their son and heir fled to
Jerusalem, and the owners disappeared in the tropics. The
plotters are discussing their plot and trying to move ahead.
Their goal is to merge their supermarket corporation with the
company of the Bartons, the missing owners.
