Five MKs vied for two spots on the Dayanim Selection Committee. Of the 113 MKs who took part in the vote on Monday five ballots were disqualified. Each MK voted for two representatives.

Based on an agreement with the Finance Ministry, in exchange for abstaining from the vote on the state budget UTJ received a pledge for NIS 290 million ($65 million). Funds were deposited last week in yeshiva and kollel bank accounts in the form of a one-time grant. Yeshivas received NIS 360 ($80) per student while kollelim received NIS 650 ($145) per avreich.
