Israel Working to Ensure no Supply Crisis in Gaza
Israeli authorities have been very careful to monitor the
level of basic supplies in the Gaza area to ensure that there
are adequate amounts of the basic necessities.
A delegation of rabbonim made a round of visits at the homes
of gedolei Yisroel in preparation for the World
Rabbinical Conference scheduled to take place in Jerusalem
from Tammuz 21-23, addressing the issue of conversion.
The Reform Movement filed a High Court petition against the
Education Ministry and Chinuch Atzmai, demanding the
cancellation of transportation funding for Chinuch Atzmai.
Lacking any other controversial issues to bring before the
High Court, the Reform Movement is trying to force Chinuch
Atzmai students to enroll at institutions close to home.
Degel HaTorah did not send representatives to a seminar for
Egged department managers and branch heads on the topic of
the way of life and transportation needs of chareidi
passengers.
The Knesset named its representatives to the dayan and judge
selection committees as well as the committees for the
selection of Muslim and Arab kadis. Five MKs vied for two
spots on the Dayanim Selection Committee. Of the 113 MKs who
took part in the vote on Monday five ballots were
disqualified. Each MK voted for two representatives.
A demand to restore the original arrangement for the ezras

Christian missionaries try to ensnare unsuspecting Jews
around the world and recently they ventured into Jerusalem's
Meah Shearim neighborhood. Furious residents tried to oust
them from the neighborhood, but a show of violence by one of
the missionaries led to a confrontation with the intruders
and the police, who were summoned to protect the missionaries
and even wound up beating residents.
Students from the Netivot Moshe School in Haifa's Kiryat
Shmuel neighborhood demonstrated alongside their parents
against Mayor Yonah Yahav to protest the municipality's
failure to meet the school's basic needs. The municipality
recently reneged on pledges to allocate land for the
construction of a larger building, leaving the students to
contend with crowded, difficult conditions.
