One-Time Grant Deposited in Yeshiva and Kollel Accounts

Based on an agreement with the Finance Ministry, in exchange
for abstaining from the vote on the state budget UTJ received
a pledge for NIS 290 million ($65 million). Funds were
deposited last week in yeshiva and kollel bank
accounts in the form of a one-time grant. Yeshivas received
NIS 360 ($80) per student while kollelim received NIS
650 ($145) per avreich.
MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni said he is working to raise the monthly
budget to at least the amount it was during the first half of
the 2005 fiscal year — NIS 400 ($90) per bochur
and NIS 720 ($160) per avreich.
