We Have Lost a Living Example of Closeness to Torah
It has been a difficult week for the Torah community with the
loss of three great rabbonim: HaRav Moshe Teitelbaum, HaRav
Moshe Halberstam, and HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapira zichronom
livrochoh. Our remarks in this small space are not
intended to fulfill the obligation of hesped
tzaddikim.
The Necessity of Suffering: Perfecting an Individual Jew's
Soul and Bringing Tikkun Ho'Olom
by HaRav Yechezkel Taub
Part II
In the first part, HaRav Taub explained that
yissurim are a kindness from Hashem, to cleanse us of
our sins in Olom Hazeh. This is a kindness because the
cleansing of the neshomoh in Olom Hazeh is
immeasurably easier than the purification of the
neshomoh in Gehennom.

Daniel's parents, Fay and Eli, have been managing in the

Additional Luach Information
On Tuesday night, the eve of 14 Nissan (Apr. 11) is the
search for chometz - bedikas chometz, and the
chometz is burnt the next morning, Erev Pesach,
Wednesday, 14 Nissan (Apr. 12) until the end of the zman
sreifas chometz. On erev Pesach the firstborn
fast— Ta'anis Bechoros.
Yov Tov Pesach falls on Thursday, 15 Nissan (Apr. 14), in
Eretz Yisroel, and on Thursday and Friday (Apr. 14-15) in
Chutz Le'aretz. The days until Shevi'i Shel
Pesach are Chol HaMo'ed.
From Mussaf of Yom Tov Pesach in Eretz Yisroel we say
morid hatal in Shemoneh Esreih instead of
vesen tal u-motor livrocho.
From Thursday night, Motzei Yom Tov Rishon Shel
Pesach, we count sefiras ha'omer until Shavuos.
The seforim hakedoshim write to make a meal on the
sixteenth of Nissan to remember the se'udas Esther
that she made when Homon was hanged (Mishnah Berurah,
490:2 from the Mogen Avrohom).
Shevi'i Shel Pesach falls on Wednesday, 21 Nissan
(April 19) and in Chutz Le'aretz also on Thursday, 22
Nissan (April 20) which is Yom Tov Sheini Shel Goliyos -
Shmini Shel Pesach.
Many are accustomed to read Pirkei Ovos after
Minchah of Shabbos, from Pesach until Rosh
HaShanah.
Our minhag is not to pray Yom Kippur Koton and
surely not to fast during the month of Nissan.
