After a six month investigation, Israeli police announced on
Sunday that dozens of leading Israeli companies and leading
private investigators were suspects in a massive industrial
espionage case.
With deep concern and prayers the Torah world is closely
following the condition of HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapira
shlita, who underwent surgery in London on Tuesday
morning and is in need of great rachamei Shomayim. The Trans-Israel Highway Company resumed work on Tuesday at
the site where graves were discovered near Binyamina after
construction was stopped for several weeks while seeking ways
to preserve the burial caves, which are seriously threatened
by the road project.
As the Shloshim for the Mashgiach, HaRav Shlomo Wolbe, who
had the merit of learning Torah from HaRav Yeruchom of
Yeshivas Mir, came to an end Tuesday night, a central
chizuk and his'orerus gathering was held at the
former Yeshivas Givat Shaul, which now bears the name
Mishkenot Yedidiah after the Mashgiach, zt"l.
Thousands poured in to Meron on the day of Lag B'Omer to
celebrate the hiluloh of R' Shimon Bar Yochai.
According to police estimates over 300,000 visitors arrived.
Heavy congestion was reported on the roads leading to Meron
before and during Lag B'Omer, even though it came out on
Friday this year.
Seventeen-year-old Shloimie was raised in a frum
household. Everything about Shloimie's family exudes
frumkeit — except Shloimie.
Thought it was just your imagination? Well, it's not. Israel
is loud compared to other countries. A study conducted by the
Ministry of the Environment two years ago found that Israelis
are second only to Japan on the noise scale. "We are a
society that lives under high-volume conditions," says Dr.
Stilian Galberg, head of the Department for Noise and
Radiation Prevention at the Ministry of the Environment.
HaRav Eliashiv: Mitzvah to Use Shearis Yisroel Products A note of support that Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita
wrote to the members of the Shearis Yisroel beis din
has had a major impact throughout the ranks of chareidi Jewry
and among bnei Torah in particular.
HaRav Alter Eliahu Rubinstein zt"l, the gavad
of Antwerp, passed away suddenly at the age of 58. Thousands
accompanied the aron in Antwerp, at Ben Gurion Airport

Operation Last Chance Has Had its Chance
Operation Last Chance was first launched by the Simon
Wiesenthal Center on July 8, 2002 in Lithuania. Within the
next three days it was launched in Estonia and Latvia as
well. A year later in September it was launched in Poland,
Romania and Austria. Over the past year it has also been
launched in Croatia, Hungary, and a few months ago in
Germany. A Purposeful Goal — For Life
Part I
The Midrash Rabba (Parshas Bamidbor 2:3) tells us that
when HaKodosh Boruch Hu revealed Himself at Har Sinai
in order to give Klal Yisroel the Torah, thousands
upon thousands of mal'ochim accompanied Him. Abounding
with banners to organize their configuration, the
mal'ochim appeared in perfect array.
TRUE STORIES OF YESTERYEAR

Many are accustomed to say the tefillah of the Shloh
on erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
Rosh Chodesh Sivan falls on Wednesday, June 11.
According to the Ramo (494:3) we do not say tachanun
from Rosh Chodesh Sivan until after Isru Chag. (There
are other minhogim that do not say tachanun
until after the seven days of hashlomoh that follow
Shavuos.)
On Rosh Chodesh Sivan we do not say tachanun as we do
every Rosh Chodesh. The second of Sivan is called Yom
HaMeyuchas, since after yetzias Mitzrayim Hashem
commanded Moshe to say to bnei Yisroel: "Now therefore
if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then
you shall be My own treasure from among all peoples"
(Shemos 19:5) to prepare them for Torah. Afterwards
the third, forth, and fifth of Sivan are the Sheloshes
Yemei Hagboloh, when bnei Yisroel waited for
kabolas HaTorah (Mishnah Berurah 494:8, and see
Shabbos 86-88).
