The Primary Greatness in Torah is to Think Straight As in past years, so too, this year, thousands of yeshiva students, graduates of yeshivos ketanoh, participated in a preparation session organized especially for them in anticipation of their entering the halls of yeshivos gedolos. The session was headed by HaRav Gershon Eidelstein and HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch. Also presiding were: the Mashgiach HaRav Uri Weisblum; Rosh Yeshivas Bircas Efraim, HaRav David Hillel, and Rosh Yeshivas Imrei Moshe, HaRav Yehoshua Mishkovsky, all of whom gave guidance talks to the attending thousands of yeshiva students.
The Kosel is Kodesh, but the Shtender is Kodesh Kodoshim HaRav Gershon Eidelstein, in his incisive address in the recent assembly of yeshiva students, illuminated and highlighted the path of the yeshiva world as transmitted to us from our master, the Gaon of Vilna, through his disciple HaRav Chaim of Volozhin, and through the successive generations until this latter one and its roshei yeshivos. The former formulated the manner in which yeshiva students must cope with the various harsh decrees imposed upon us, which is solely through extensive Torah study, exclusive of any other effort.
The Annual Gathering for Mifal HaShas This past Friday, our Torah leaders and presidium members of the World Mifal HaShas gathered amidst much enthusiasm and anticipation in the Lederman Beis Medrash of HaRav Chaim Kanievsky for the yearly meeting of the Mifal HaShas. This endeavor was established over thirty-five years ago by the Sanzer Rebbe, the Shefa Chaim, for the purpose of restoring the crown of Torah knowledge to its appropriate designated place amongst the many thousands of Jews.
