The first prime minister, David Ben Gurion, asked the Chazon Ish in a famous encounter, as follows: "Let us speak theoretically that it is decided that the Chazon Ish become Prime Minister. (All quotations from the introduction to, Against the Gods, the Remarkable Story of Risk, by Peter Bernstein, unless otherwise noted.)
