Bayit Yehudi Politicians Legitimize Conservative and Reform in USA In the course of a trip to the States which the chairman of Bayit Hayehudi party, MK Naftali Bennett, made two weeks ago, he visited a Conservative school in New York. Bennett was the first religious official to recognize such a body and meet with it, and after the visit, he distributed a video showing his meeting with the students and praising them. He described it in these words, "My encounter with the students of this Conservative school showed me how much love for Judaism they have."
A Delegation of Gedolei Yisrael Will Go To Toronto and Los Angeles A special delegation headed by HaRav Boruch Dov Povarsky, Rosh Yeshivas Ponovezh, and HaRav Osher Weiss, Gavad of Darchei Torah, will leave for the U.S. and Canada in order to strengthen communities in Los Angeles and Toronto and bring the word of Torah leadership in rallies organized by representatives of the various Torah groups belonging to the international organization "Partners for Torah".

The Value of an Answer Said with Toil
HaRav Dovid Magnes told of the time he joined Rabbenu R' Boruch Ber Leibowitz at his Friday night table. In the course of the meal he showed his host a difficult Rambam which was being dealt with in the yeshiva and posed his question. Rabbenu provided a brilliant answer on the spot. At the end of the meal, Rabbenu went out to the yard and paced its length for a long time, sefer in hand, mulling over the question.
Challenges of the Modern World: Diabetes and Obesity are Immoral

The incidence of diabetes is soaring in the United States. The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) calls it an epidemic. Seven percent of all Americans are now known to have the disease. In New York City the figures are even higher: almost thirteen percent of all New Yorkers now have diabetes. Based on current trends, the CDC says that one in three Americans born five years ago will get diabetes in the course of their lifetime.
