Agudath Israel 15th Annual Jerusalem Yarchei Kallah
15 years ago the Yidden of Eretz Yisroel encountered the vicious assault of the second intifadah. The askonim of Agudas Yisroel wanted to show support for their brethren in Israel by organizing a solidarity mission to Eretz Yisroel. They asked the advice of the Gedolei HaTorah of Eretz Yisroel as how to proceed. Their answer was unequivocal. Come to Eretz Yisroel and learn with great hasmodoh, in keeping with the words of Chazal, "Torah magna umatzla," Torah protects and saves. And so the Yarchei Kallah was born.
One of the mightiest powers implanted in man is that of curiosity - the desire to know-it-all. Is this power advantageous? Is it a blessing or a flaw and curse? Let us examine it and see what lessons we can derive from it.

With regard to Avrohom Ovinu it is written, "Because I know him, for he commands his sons and his household to follow him and to guard the way of Hashem." The Torah tells us that the main reason that Hashem loves Avrohom Ovinu (which is denoted by the words `because I know him') is because he commands his household to follow his example of keeping the word of Hashem.

One of our readers drew our attention to a letter from R' Yosef Zundel of Salant zt'l written to R' Eliyohu Dov Levinson of Kartinga who, aside from his greatness in Torah and his piety, was also a wealthy and very generous man. R' Dov did much for the sake of the Yishuv settlement in Eretz Yisroel.
