UTJ Vigorously Condemns the Murder of the Arab Boy from Shuafat

MK Rabbi Menachem Eliezer Moses presented this past Monday in the Knesset plenum a no-confidence bill on behalf of the United Torah Jewry party, sharply condemning the murder of an Arab youth from Shuafat by Jewish youths. He also attacked the government for its slackness and the unseemly involvements of the prime minister and foreign minister in petty political intrigues.

An Urgent Call to Prayer

The Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel in America has asked people to daven for the safety of the Jews living in Eretz Yisroel. The Agudah released the following statement:

Preparations for a Rabbinical Conference to Fortify the Walls of Religion - Against the Internet Threat

Enthusiastic preparations are under way for the upcoming Conference to Eradicate the Threat of Internet planned for the upcoming weeks, per the directive of HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman and HaRav Chaim Kanievsky. Its purpose is to strengthen the safeguards established by the rabbonim against that scourge and threat which is spreading its talons to entrap our souls and can lead to total spiritual shmad and the loss of future generations of heretofore innocent and pious Jews.

Repairing a Broken Heart

by R. Gil

This story is fiction. Any resemblance to real people is entirely coincidental.

The wheels of the plane slid gently to a halt on the runway. Chedva felt her heart landing inside her together with them. She pressed her one-month-old daughter's tiny head tightly to her and rocked her with rhythmic motions. "Thank Hashem we're back in Israel," she murmured thankfully into the warm ear of her baby, who was enveloped in a deep sleep. "Healthy and well."

Chareidi Politics is Just Politics by Chareidim

by Mordecai Plaut

Labor Party Chairman Shimon Peres said in a recent speech that he is against religious parties. Since religion is absolute and uncompromising and politics is anything but, religious parties do not fit in, he says.

Appreciating Being Jewish: The Mesirus Nefesh of Jewish Women

by HaRav Yaakov Weinberg, zt"l

The is an edited and adapted transcript of a talk given in Jerusalem.

The yesod hayesodos, the basis of the possibility of having an Am Yisroel, the most important thing that children can be taught in cheder to both boys and girls, is Atoh bechartonu. If we do not appreciate what it means to be Jewish, the Atoh bechartonu, the rest of Torah disappears.
