Israel Reduced Civilian Casualties to an Incredible 3.5 Percent

In a talk to the press on Tuesday morning, IAF Commander Major General Eliezer Shakedi said that the air force makes "superhuman efforts in order to reduce the number of innocent casualties in aerial strikes." He presented the latest IDF data that showed that the proportion of noncombatants (a technical term defined in the Geneva Conventions) killed in IAF aerial strikes in the territories has been reduced to a stunning 3.5 percent of all such casualties.

Thousands of Chinuch Atzmai Students Left at the Curbside After Finance Ministry Cuts Transportation Funding

The Chinuch Atzmai system is facing a severe busing crisis following the Finance Ministry's decision to cut transportation funding immediately. Bus companies have stopped providing services for students at over 120 locations around the country.

The construction of a new eruv in the main part of Jerusalem's Kiryat Yovel neighborhood is now complete.

The need for the eruv, funded by R' Refoel Halperin, arose when more than 100 bnei Torah families, especially young couples, moved into a central section of Kiryat Yovel, where Torah activity is growing. The new eruv will connect to the Bayit Vegan eruv.

A civil marriage bill tabled by Shinui was defeated 12 to 11 in a Knesset plenum session.

Minister Roni Bar-On, responding for the government, lodged criticism against the former Shinui members, saying that their defiant and provocative conduct actually defeated efforts to reach a solution for Israelis who are ineligible to marry one another according to halochoh (e.g. a Jew and a non-Jew, chas vesholom).
