Following an eight-day visit to Buenos Aires by Efrat
Chairman Dr. Eli Y. Shusheim the organization decided to open
a branch in the city.
Efrat already has branches in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil,
England, Panama, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
"I flew there based on an invitation from the Jewish
community but without grand expectations," said Dr. Shusheim.
"But after an amazing week in which I was a part of an
extraordinary experience it was decided to set up an Efrat
branch in Argentina in order to battle and prevent the murder
of fetuses."
The Jewish community in Argentina is the fourth largest in
the world. During a packed week of activities Dr. Shusheim,
who was born in Argentina, delivered lectures at four Jewish
schools, both religious and non-religious; spoke at four
botei knesses, including a special lecture for women;
was interviewed by four Jewish newspapers as well as the
electronic media; and met with the rabbonim of Buenos Aires,
roshei yeshivos and all of the heads of the various Jewish
communities.
Thousands of Jews streamed in from every part of the city to
hear about Efrat and Dr. Shusheim's message about the
sanctity of life and the grave prohibition against
abortions.
