Will Violence Crack it?
by Mordecai Plaut and Yated Ne'eman Staff
The Palestinian Authority's National Security Council and the
Cabinet on Monday instructed the PA security forces in the
Gaza Strip to prevent attacks on Israel, saying it would not
tolerate actions that harm the national interests of the
Palestinians.
Arise Yerushalayim, the Holy City

Report Debunks Demographic Threat
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
An extra-academic document that debunks one of the
foundations of the disengagement plan, "the demographic
bomb," was presented in Washington. The document argues that
only 2.4 million Palestinians live in Judea, Samaria and the
Gaza Strip today, and not the 3.8 million claimed by the
Palestinian Authority.

Knesset Committee Authorizes Split in UTJ
By Eliezer Rauchberger
The Knesset House Committee unanimously approved the split of
United Torah Jewry into two separate parties and notified the
plenum of the decision. UTJ has now been replaced by the two-
man party Degel HaTorah and the three-man party Agudas
Yisroel. The split is primarily a political, technical move
reflecting problems in operations in the Knesset, and not an
ideological one.

Life Will Prevail Over Death
Even the Americans have learned something from their
experience in Iraq. "This is a negative insurgency," Brig.
Gen. Erwin Lessel, deputy director of operations for the
multinational forces, told a reporter for the New York
Times. "Unlike a classical insurgency, these groups don't
offer anything."
"They want to dictate to us what to teach and how to
educate. We must fight this with all our might!"
HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman
With regard to Avrohom Ovinu it is written, "Because I know
him, for he commands his sons and his household to follow him
and to guard the way of Hashem." The Torah tells us that the
main reason that Hashem loves Avrohom Ovinu (which is denoted
by the words `because I know him') is because he commands his
household to follow his example of keeping the word of
Hashem.
