A Rude Awakening
by HaRav Meir Weissberger
The operators of the national-religious radio station Arutz 7
were tried and found guilty of the "monstrous" crime of
broadcasting for nearly 20 years without a license. After two

One Thousand Fasts: Fasting on Shabbos and Yom Tov
by Rabbi Daniel Yaakov Travis
Honoring Shabbos
On Wednesday night I just could not fall asleep. Early
Thursday morning I walked into Mea Shearim to look for an
early minyan, and I saw a number of older men walking

to follow them, and join their minyan.
In the Dwellings of the Shepherds -- Till the Last
Moment
HaRav Yisroel Avrohom Krieger zt'l from Spinishuk,
Lithuania, studied under Rabbenu Meir Simcha of Dvinsk after
his marriage. Many years later, before immigrating to the
U.S. when World War I broke out, he traveled on a train that
bore the emigrants to the port from which they would sail. En
route, the train made a stopover for many hours in Dvinsk.
Not one to forego such an excellent opportunity, R' Yisroel
debarked and went off to pay his respects to his master and
teacher.
