Head of Shin Bet Warns Against Extremists on the Right
by M Plaut and Yated Ne'eman Staff
Since Shin Bet security service head Avi Dichter spoke at
Sunday's cabinet meeting, everyone else has not stopped
talking about what he said. The most talked-about statement
he made then concerned the possibility of violence from the
extreme right in reaction to the implementation of the prime
minister's disengagement plan.
Chareidi Cities in Israel Continue to Grow, Kein Yirbu
By Betzalel Kahn and M Plaut
While Jerusalem, the largest city in Israel, grew 1.9 percent
(an increase of 12,800 people), chareidi towns and cities all
over Israel continued to grow at a much higher rate than the
rest of the country, with the exception of Bnei Brak, which
grew just 0.5 percent, according to data published by the
Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) on Monday.
Belgian Foreign Minister Says Jews Have Become a Target
by Arnon Yaffeh, Paris
Following five consecutive attacks on Jews in Antwerp within

The Gateshead Rov's Dikduk BeHalochoh
To the Editor:
At the first yahrtzeit of the beloved Gateshead Rov
zt"l (20 Tammuz), one feels more intensely the great
loss we have all suffered. Over the past year, a number of
collective mitzvos including siyumim were dedicated
le'iluy nishmoso, and perhaps now is an appropriate
time to mention another opportunity for each individual to
join forces in an additional dvar mitzvah.

Chareidi Politics is Just Politics by Chareidim
Labor Party Chairman Shimon Peres said in a recent speech
that he is against religious parties. Since religion is
absolute and uncompromising and politics is anything but,
religious parties do not fit in, he says.

The Wisdom of Women...
by Yisca Shimony
Hashya stood by the window, looking at the darkening sky. In
the semidarkness, she lowered her gaze to the beautiful
garden and as she looked at the lengthening shadows of the
trees, she felt foreboding and fear. Sadness enveloped her as
she recalled the hasty departure of her dear husband who had
left Rome on a business trip.
