by Betzalel Kahn
At a Yeshivas' Union meeting last week at the organization's

harsh economic decrees against the yeshiva world--including
budget cuts by the Finance Ministry and scheming by the
Education Ministry--that are leading to severe financial
strain at mosdos HaTorah.
Arafat Appoints a New Prime Minister
by M. Plaut
There was a personnel shift in the Palestinian Authority as
Mahmoud Abbas resigned on Saturday and Ahmed Qurei (also
known as Abu Ala) was selected by Yasser Arafat to take his
place. Israeli government sources said that the selection of
a prime minister is an internal Palestinian process and they
will deal with the new prime minister according to the way he
performs.

Anti-Jewish Conspiracy Theories on WTC Attacks Compiled by
ADL
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
On September 10, 2001, 4,000 Israelis were issued a secret
directive by the Mossad, warning them not to report to work

Chareidi Education: A Majority in Beit Shemesh
by Betzalel Kahn
Chareidi education in Beit Shemesh has now become a majority
of the city's educational system. Of the 18,520
talmidim enrolled in all of the educational
institutions, about 54 percent are studying in chareidi
institutions. The rapid increase in the number of chareidi
students has made them the majority within just a few
years.
Mercaz Harmony Honors Batya Feigenbaum
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Mercaz Harmony is the pioneering educational program which
reaches out and includes children with special needs
alongside their typical peers. The amazing factor about
Mercaz Harmony is the fact that when someone enters their
facilities, one can almost be oblivious to the fact that the
classes are integrated.
OPINION &
COMMENT
Solving Israel's Demographic Problems
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is worried about the demographics
of Israel and he has a characteristically grandiose and
dramatic solution: bring in 1,000,000 Jews. Fortunately he is
distracted by other problems and has not been able to focus
on this policy, but it is a proposal that he has referred to
frequently and consistently since he became prime
minister.

"Ah, what bliss," she sighed. "Hashem's world is so
beautiful!"
