Israel "Postpones" Gaza Incursion
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Israeli postponed or called-off its plan to move into the
Gaza Strip in order to root out terrorists there. It sent
home some reservists who had been called-up, but others
remain on alert. The army remains poised around Gaza and it
is not clear if these moves are the result of genuine
decisions to postpone the action, or an attempt to put the
terrorists in Gaza off balance to restore the element of
surprise in a subsequent attack.

Thank You for the Torah
Thank you Hashem.
We thank you Hashem for Mattan Torah on that first
Shavuos, for bringing us to the foot of Mount Sinai where we
were truly one, "as one man with one heart." We are grateful
for the unforgettable experience that day -- when the whole
creation received the first two Commandments directly --
which all of us, who were immediately present in spirit,
recall at least subliminally to this day and forever.
OBSERVATIONS
No Psalms in Israel
by Jonathan Rosenblum
Remember the intensive ad campaign: "Say Tehillim --
for the Soul" that blanketed the country at the beginning of
the Jewish year? Ever wonder what happened to the catchy
jingle proclaiming the power of Psalms to bring "more
happiness -- to you, to your family, to all of us?".

Fighting Terror With Love
From Heart to Heart

"Hashem will not proclaim the Redemption to Yisroel until
there is peace amongst them" (Devorim Rabba 5).
Almost thirty years ago, in 1973, several women got together
in Kiryat Mattersdorf to study the classic work of the
Chofetz Chaim about guarding one's tongue from slander,
gossip and all forms of negative speech.
