Additional Luach Information The earliest time of Kiddush Levonoh -- Sivan The time of Kiddush Levonoh everywhere in the world begins when it is Motzei Shabbos parshas Bamidbar, the eve of 5 Sivan (May 26), from the beginning of the night. Even those following the ruling of the Chazon Ish and only make a berochoh when the moon is "big and high" can make Kiddush Levonoh on Motzei Shabbos. On Motzei Shabbos the molad was more than four days ago when it was bein hashemoshos of Tuesday- Wednesday, 1 Sivan. Although the astronomical new moon follows the molad this month by nine hours and fifty- eight minutes and is on Wednesday morning, 1 Sivan (May 23) at 5:47 according to the summer clock, since during the four days until Motzei Shabbos the moon approaches its lowest point (perigee) and advances quickly, that regression is annulled.
