This past Sunday HaRav Aharon Leib Steinman and HaRav Chaim Kanievsky visited R' Aharon Kornblit in the Sharon prison. R' Kornblit has been detained for more than six months. The charge against him is that he was one of the organizers of the burning of the missionary apartment in Meah Shearim, but the only evidence was the testimony of someone who later said that it was not true.

Shavuos Night Down Under

It is the first night of Shavuos. The talmidim of Gateshead Yeshiva begin ma'ariv. They finish davening, say "Gut Yom Tov," and go down to the dining room for their Yom Tov meal. After a hasty meal and a few niggunim they say bircas hamozone and hurry back to the beis hamedrash for the Shavuos night learning.

2 Young Women Killed in Tragic Lag B'Omer Bus Accident

Two passengers were killed and 52 injured in a tragic bus accident on Lag B'Omer. The bus, which had set out from the chareidi community of Beit Shemesh, was on its way to Meron. The driver lost control of the wheel at the Yokne'am junction near Haifa and crashed into an electric pole. The bus then turned over onto its roof.

This statement was delivered by HaRav Aharon Leib Steinman at the UTJ campaign rally in Yerushalayim.

It is written in the novi (Mal'achi 3), Oz nidberu yirei Hashem ish el rei'eihu, vayaksheiv Hashem vayishma, vayikoseiv sefer zikoron lefonov, leyirei Hashem ulechoshvei shemo, then those who fear Hashem spoke to each other, and Hashem listened and He heard, and He wrote a book of remembrance before Him, to those who fear Hashem and honor His name."

Chinuch Atzmai Directors Visit Schools Founded by the Nesivos Moshe Fund

Last week, the directors of Chinuch Atzmai, Rabbi Meir Luria, Rabbi Tzvi Baumel, Rabbi Mordechai Lev and Rabbi Shraga Rosenberg, visited four schools founded by Nesivos Moshe, a fund for the expansion of Torah education in Eretz Yisroel that was founded in memory of Rabbi Moshe Sherer, zt'l, from the money raised by the joint trip of HaRav Aharon Leib Steinman and the Gerrer Rebbe to America.

Thousands gathered to participate in an assembly in memory of HaRav Moshe Hager, rosh yeshiva of Seret-Viznitz, zt'l. The beis medrash was too small to contain the many people who showed up including many rabbonim, roshei yeshivos and dayanim and led by the Sereter Rebbe, shlita.

One Round Only?

Surveys indicate that Yitzchak Mordechai will receive only a minimal amount of votes for the office of prime minister. Currently, none of the five candidates for prime minister are withdrawing their candidacy.
