Before the start of Agudath Israel of America's 18th annual Yerushalayim Yarchei Kallah, hundreds of participants gathered in Bnei Brak on Sunday night for a pre-opening event held at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center. Torrential rains did nothing to dampen the spirits of those who came to the reception held in a magnificent tent outside the 300 bed hospital which prides itself on providing high level, halachically appropriate medical care.

What is Wrong with the Internet?

The American gedolim warned of its dangers some two years ago. Now the rabbonim in Eretz Yisroel, a broad spectrum including Roshei Yeshiva -- both Ashkenazic and Sephardic -- Admorim and rabbonim, have warned that one should not use the Internet privately, nor watch CD-Roms or videos on the computer. They also write that computer games should not be played, and in general the computer should not be used for entertainment.
