In all communities in Eretz Yisroel and abroad, in Torah halls, yeshivos and kollelim, botei medrash and central shul, prayers are being cried out in the hope of crashing the Heavenly Gates for the recovery of HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman. On Monday, morning and afternoon, when Maran underwent complex medical procedures which, thankfully, were successful, moving prayers were said in all Torah study halls and schools for his complete recovery.

"A cycle has been completed," said Yehuda Kantor, 66, in an interview with Yated Ne'eman.
For many years, Yehuda Kantor knew that he was adopted and he suspected that he was one of the kidnapped Yemenite children. He revealed the story of his life and the beginning of his journey to uncover the truth in a media interview over twenty years ago in his attempt to find his biological family through all ways and means. In an interview to "Ha'aretz" reporter Yigal Mashiach in 1996, he told that in his class, in the elementary school of Afula, he was the only dark-skinned student but he does not remember that it was an issue. Nonetheless, his entire childhood was shrouded with a feeling of being alien because of it, being so markedly different from everyone in his Ashkenazi neighborhood of Mapainik proletarian residents of the 1950s.

Introduction: A Vision of Slobodke
HaRav Meir Chodosh, one of the central figures in the yeshiva world in Eretz Yisroel for over half a century, was widely venerated as the senior mashgiach of the generation. A close disciple of the Alter of Slobodke, HaRav Chodosh, embodied the classic Slobodke approach to the study of Torah and of mussar, to character development and to life. He placed the imprint of the tradition which he faithfully transmitted upon the thousands of talmidim who grew and matured over the years in the Chevron Yeshiva and indirectly, upon the even larger numbers in the yeshivos that were founded by his family members and disciples.
