The Admor of Seret-Vishnitz zt"l

The world of Torah and Chassidus went into deep mourning on Tuesday 20 Tammuz-July 7 with the passing of the Admor of Seret-Vishnitz who established an exemplary community in Haifa and from there radiated his influence to the rest of the Jewish world. He had a heart attack at the age of 91.

Busing Fund for Chinuch Atzmai

With a feeling of reverent awe, for the purpose of spiritual self-preservation, the rabbonim of cities and of suburb kehillos who are involved in child education in their areas gathered in the home of HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman this past Monday parshas Pinchos to discuss the real threat of collapse of the structure of chinuch in the various Chinuch Atzmai institutions in peripheral areas. These schools are raising the children of families distant from Torah and mitzvos, with the goal of their continuing in yeshivos. Now, however, due to tremendous debts accrued through the cost of transporting these students, the entire structure is threatened.

Unfiltered Internet is Absolutely Forbidden, Even for Parnossoh

The pained outcry of gedolei Yisroel about the terrible threat of technological devices in workplaces was brought in a special chizuk gathering which took place this past Friday in the Concord Hall in Bnei Brak. It was attended by the elder venerable leaders of the Torah community and headed by HaRav Shteinman, HaRav Kanievsky, HaRav Edelstein and HaRav Zilberstein. The letters of HaRav Nissim Karelitz, the Admor of Sanz and a message of guidance from the Belzer Rebbe were read aloud by HaRav Yehoshua Fink.

Interior Minister Must Decide about Tel Aviv Shabbos Law

This past Monday parshas Pinchos the Supreme Court ordered the Interior Minister, Silvan Shalom, to arrive at a decision within three months regarding the opening of businesses on Shabbos and Yom Tov in Tel Aviv.

Switching to Kosher Water Meters

In the wake of the letter of Torah leaders warning against the serious possibility of Shabbos violation in places where digital water meters are installed, there has been an aroused awareness for changing these meters to kosher ones. Dozens of owners of summer tsimmer-bungalows throughout the country have contacted the Mishmeres HaShabbos organization asking for guidance in changing such meters.

Right now, according to their assessment, it is just behind the US, but the US community is declining while Israel's is expanding. Hence Israel will soon overtake the US.
