Preparations for Mass Visits to Meron on Lag B'Omer
Hundreds of thousands are expected to visit the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron starting on motzei Shabbos, the 33rd day of the Omer. From Friday morning, roads in the area will be closed to individual vehicles, and all visitors are expected to travel in buses and vans. Ule'on atoh holeich
A grandchild of the holy Chasam Sofer zt"l relates in the sefer Chut Hameshulosh:
During the hot summers, the Chasam Sofer would leave Pressburg with its pressures, for the serene atmosphere and green pastures of Jergen, a small countryside village not far away. Not that he took a holiday from his learning and shiurim. In fact, every day a carriage-load of bochurim would ride out to the tiny town to learn the daily shiur with their Rebbe and then travel back to transmit it further to the other talmidim.

HaRav Aharon Dovid Dunner, a prominent London dayan who traveled to India to gather information critical to HaRav Eliashiv's ruling, told Yated Ne'eman about the siyato diShmayo during all of his tours and meetings. Sent to ascertain whether the hair is cut at the actual site of the temple and whether the haircut itself is part of the idol-worship, he and his assistants managed to amass extensive information, including classified information normally kept hidden from foreigners.
