Hundreds of thousands are expected to visit the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron starting on motzei Shabbos, the 33rd day of the Omer. From Friday morning, roads in the area will be closed to individual vehicles, and all visitors are expected to travel in buses and vans. The roads are expected to remain closed until at least noon time on Sunday. Security checks will be made at checkpoints far away so that the final and most difficult parts of the journey will not be burdened by those issues.
Although many improvements have been made over the years, the infrastructure is not adequate to handle the huge traffic burden of that day.
The chessed organizations are at work, and Ezer Mizion will use its fleet of ambulances to bring those who need their services to join the hundreds of thousands at Meron.
