Concerns Over Safety of Tunisian Jewish Community
The head of Tunisia's Jewish community, Roger Bismuth, met with
Interim Tunisian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghanoucci and asked him to
provide better security for the community.
Chareidi Sector Lacks Over 30,000 Apartments
"The dire shortage of professional workers in the construction
industry will lead to a dramatic drop in buildings starts in the
chareidi sector in the near future," warned Eldad Nitzan, chairman of
the Chamber of Commerce's Union of Professional Construction Personnel
Companies.
A unique first-of-its-kind gathering was held this week for the 120
people involved in planning Ramat Beit Shemesh Dalet. Ranking
municipal figures addressed the planners, sharing their expectations
regarding the enormous neighborhood in the works. The conference was
initiated and led by the chairman of the Local Planning and
Construction Committee, Rabbi Moshe Montag, in order to speed up the
construction process.
A gathering is scheduled to take place this week in Jerusalem to show
appreciation for Avos Ubonim activists around the country and to mark
13 years since the organization was founded.
The Movement for Quality Government has demanded the State Comptroller
and the Committee for State Control inquire into why government
decisions regarding the documentation of the rights of Jewish refugees
from Arab countries have not been implemented.
Following a series of acts of vandalism at Har Hamenuchot Cemetery in
Jerusalem's Givat Shaul neighborhood, including thefts of memorial
candle holders and car break-ins, cameras may be installed throughout
the cemetery.
