Emmanuel Prisoners Released Without Yielding to High Court Following a court hearing on Sunday, 15 Tammuz, a decision was made to release the Emmanuel prisoners without requiring them to compromise their position in any way, upholding their original demands in the arrangement made based on the stance of gedolei Yisroel shlita.
Knesset Finance Committee to Rewrite Guaranteed Income Criteria After the High Court ruled the present Guaranteed Income criteria are unlawful because they do not treat university students equally, the Knesset Finance Committee has begun holding meetings to redraft the criteria to ensure that avreichim remain eligible. The court said new arrangements should be formulated for the 2011 budget year.
