Israeli Voting Results in Clear Move to the Right
Israel voted for a new government on Tuesday, and although no
party emerged with a clear mandate, there was a definite
swing towards the Right. Whether this will prove beneficial
to the chareidi community remains to be seen.
A crowd of thousands, including many baalei teshuvoh,
gedolei Torah, roshei yeshivos and rabbonim
took part in the levaya for HaRav Noach Weinberg zt"l,
rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem's Old City
and a pioneering figure in the Teshuvoh Movement, who passed
away on Thursday, 11 Shevat, at the age of 79.
Thousands of bnei Torah from around the country, led
by the Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman and
the brother-in-law of the niftar, HaRav Chaim
Kanievsky, shlita, turned out on Wednesday, 10 Shevat,
to lay to rest HaRav Yisroel Yosef Yisraelson zt"l,
the rosh kollel of Kollel Bar Shaul and the son-in-law
of Maran HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv ylct"a.
Rabbi Dr. Rabbi Yisroel Nulman z"l, who dedicated his
life to teaching yaldei Yisroel Torah and good
character traits, was taken from this world on Rosh Chodesh
Shevat.
