Unlicensed Broker Suspected of Conning Dozens of Chareidi Investors

The Securities Exchange Authority recently handed over to the State Prosecutor's Office the investigation file on Ilan Morgan, who is suspected of concealing his criminal record in order to obtain a license to manage portfolios, avoiding Securities Exchange procedures and avoiding procedures connected to several of his clients. Morgan, who owns several companies including Morgan Lombard, also allegedly built a fraudulent fundraising setup.


New Egged Bus Routes in Jerusalem Do Not Benefit Chareidi Passengers

Extensive changes have been introduced to Jerusalem bus lines, particularly on routes serving the chareidi public. Various lines have been completely cancelled or curtailed and rerouted, new and express lines have been added and existing lines have been replaced.


Neot Hapisgah Files Request to Rescind Army's Construction Ban in Modi'in Illit

Neot Hapisgah construction company filed a request to the Tel Aviv District Court to freeze proceedings after receiving temporary orders from the local army commander regarding land possession and a construction ban in Modi'in Illit. The IDF is not allowing the company to carry out signed deals and to complete the construction of a series of projects. The company claims that as a result it could not pay bond coupons due Wednesday and that due to the orders the company's coffers are essentially empty, even though it should be millions of shekels in the black.


Jerusalem Municipality Provides Full Funding for `Recognized But Unofficial' Schools

The Jerusalem Municipality has decided to allow full funding of educational institutions designated "recognized but unofficial" following intense efforts by chareidi representatives and by Rabbi Yitzchok Pindrus, who serves as deputy mayor and holds the education portfolio.

In the beginning of Hilchos Shevisas Ossor (1:2) the Rambam writes: "Every melochoh whose punishment is sekilloh when done deliberately on Shabbos, is punishable with koreis when done deliberately on the Tenth.
