Knesset Defeats No-Confidence Motion on Ending Support for Foreign Yeshiva Students and Reducing Kollel Stipends

A majority of 57 MKs defeated a no-confidence motion in the Knesset plenum early this week filed by United Torah Judaism and HaIchud HaLeumi-NRP regarding the government's decision to stop support funding for yeshiva students from abroad and reduce support funding for kollel students.


Transportation Budget Discriminates Against Chareidi Education System

The school transportation budget for the general sector amounts to NIS 900 million ($230 million) — NIS 600 million from the Education Ministry and another NIS 300 million from the local authorities — while the transportation budget for the chareidi educational system totals a mere NIS 25 million ($6 million), with Chinuch Atzmai accounting for NIS 21 million ($5 million), even though today the chareidi education system comprises 20 percent of Israeli schools.

There is Nothing without Prayer

A fundamental principle of creation is that nothing is given without prayer. "Now no tree of the field was yet on the earth, neither did any herb of the field yet grow, because Hashem G-d had not brought rain upon the earth, and there was no man to work the soil" (Bereishis 2:5).
