Germany to Ask US to Extradite Demjanjuk

The Justice Ministry in Berlin is slated to ask the US to extradite Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk, 88, who is suspected of taking part in the mass murder of Jews while serving as a guard at the Sobibor death camp in Poland.


Yeshivos Ketanos Funding Bill Passed in First Reading

Chareidi MKs scored a major achievement: on Tuesday the Knesset plenum unanimously passed in a first reading the Educational Institutions for Special Cultures bill, which is designed to provide budget arrangements for the yeshivos ketanos. The wording of the bill was approved by the Rabbinical Committee that has been closely following the issue.


French Chief Rabbi to Retire After 21 Years

HaRav Yosef Sitruk is slated to end his term as chief rabbi of France after 21 years of successful efforts to strengthen Judaism throughout France, notably by safeguarding educational institutions from modern trends and buttressing kashrus standards.


Citibook Expands Services

Citibook of Modi'in Illit, which is involved in real-estate insurance and abstracts of real-estate contracts in the US, is expanding its operations to the area of business planning. Recently Madison Title, the company's US partner, acquired Real Diligence, a company that does feasibility studies for commercial properties. Citibook will provide its services both to Israeli companies investing in the US and to US companies.

Acheinu to Open Counselling Centers Around the Country

The outreach department at Acheinu has expanded its counselling program and changed its appearance beyond recognition. As part of the expansion process the organization is starting a new program to offer open counselling hours in various cities around the country, based on guidance from the Acheinu rabbonim and directors.
