Party Planner
by Dena Newman

It seems like if you want to make a party, you need a party planner.

I used to work in a candy distribution company. Although our main customers were candy stores and shops with quality candy, over the years we had developed a large group of 'friends, and friends of friends, and . . . ' who knew that they could come to our warehouse and get wholesale prices, so when people had a simcha, we were one of their stops.

POETS' CORNER

A Mother's Heart
by Chava

A mother's heart is a perfect blend
of love and warmth galore.

A mother's heart will hold you snug
on days you're feeling sore.

Butter as creamy chocolate cake,
with roses of icing pink.
Mummy's heart is everywhere.
In more places than you think.

Tucked between the sandwiches
and the marbles in Yossi's pocket
Woven in Rifky's pony-tail
Or on the clasp of Miri's locket.

Cushioning Dina's pit-a-pat,
as she climbs the rungs of life.
Gently caressing Eli's cheek,
posing with his new wife.

Stretching ever overseas, fusing miles
and acres of longing, like a shimmering rainbow —
Glows a mother's heart—

Throbbing
Pulsing
Praying
Aching.

I am often awed when I stop to think,
Of this amazing link,
in Hashem's creation!
