Talmidim from Yeshivas Otzar Yerushalayim Tested by HaRav Shteinman and HaRav Kanievsky

by Betzalel Kahn

Talmidim from Yeshivas Otzar Yerushalayim, run by Siach Sod, were tested on their gemora learning by HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman and HaRav Chaim Kanievsky.

HaRav Yechiel Esterzon and HaRav Binyomin Lichtman, who serve as ramim at the yeshiva, give shiurim in halochoh, mishnah and gemora in accordance with the students' respective levels, making them "live" their learning, understand kushyos and terutzim and feel gratified to become bnei yeshiva with all that entails. Siach Sod is a group of institutions involved in Special Education.

The talmidim underwent a long rehabilitation process with the help of professionals and the guidance of Director Rav Dov Levy who, together with the staff, conveys unreserved faith in they students' ability to eventually rejoin the community with appropriate and respectable conduct.

The talmidim, who have special needs, have managed to attain a level of normal conduct to the point where outside observers see them as regular yeshiva bochurim in every respect. Following their success in gemora studies the students paid a visit to HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman in his home.

When he stepped in to test them, the students burst out in a round of, "Yomim al yemei Melech Tosif." Rav Levy presented the yeshiva, and HaRav Shteinman proceeded to test every bochur on Eilu Metzios.

Afterwards the talmidim went to the home of HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, where they were tested again and given brochos.
