Degel HaTorah National Convention Opens in Zichron

The Degel HaTorah National Convention began Tuesday at the
Eden Inn in Zichron Yaakov with a special opening session
attended by members of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, the
Rabbinical Committee and Degel HaTorah leaders and
delegates.

"What the Education Ministry is doing to chareidi education
has not been done in any totalitarian country in the world.
Funding is not transferred properly in any area. Not in the
lower grades, not in the high-school grades, not in the
seminaries, not in transportation and not in talmudei

Betzedek Wins Petition on Tuition for Chinuch Atzmai
Commuter Students

Another court victory for Betzedek: A Haifa court ruled that
the "Gafni Law" must be enforced at all local authorities as
of the time of legislation and required the city of Kiryat
Yam to pay the tuition—including back tuition
payments—for local students who commute to Chinuch
Atzmai schools in Haifa, and to reimburse Betzedek for the
court costs and attorney fees.
City of Jerusalem Invests in Development of Geula Area

The City of Jerusalem, through municipal companies Eden and
Moriah, has begun an extensive project to develop and upgrade
the infrastructures in the Kerem Avraham neighborhood and the
Geula area. The city invested much time and effort into
planning the project, which now enters the execution
stage.
Rain Forecast for Thursday

Dagan say rain will fall on Thursday after three weeks of no

security considerations alone," PM Ariel Sharon said at last
week's Cabinet meeting.
Multiyear Improvement Plan for Kosel Maarovi Approved

The government approved a multiyear improvement plan for the
Western Wall Plaza this week. The plan calls for changes to
the main point of entry to the Kosel Maarovi, new traffic
arrangements and a new building to house the police station,
emergency and rescue services and other services.
