A New Edition of Shas

A special event was held in Jerusalem Sunday night to mark
the release of a new edition of the Vilna Shas published by
Machon Masores HaShas.
During the seudas mitzvah at Beit Yisroel Halls
gedolei Torah and roshei yeshivos lavished praise on
the fine new edition laid out with easy-to-read letters
without altering the original layout. This is the first
Shas to use easy-to-read letters even for the
Mordechai, the Tosefta and the mishnayos of Seder
Zeraim and Seder Taharos. Also for the first time
the Rif and the commentaries on the Rif were edited while
maintaining the original layout.
Hundreds of Shas sets were distributed to yeshivas and
botei medrash around the country through a donation by
the Weinreb family of the US in memory of the father of the
family.
