LETTERS, FEEDBACK

Response to Risa Rotman's "Lost and Found":

The author wonders why Hashem wants her to spend so much time searching for lost objects. The article ends with R' Binyomin's segula and states, "Believing that all is in the Hands of Hashem and putting your faith in Him is what makes it work."

I remember learning that the purpose of our suffering is to get us to turn to Hashem. He so much wants a relationship with us that He is willing to give us suffering so that we will talk to Him, turn to Him, believe in Him, trust Him, recognize Him in our lives and pray to Him.

It's not that we pray to and trust in Hashem in order to get back our lost times. Rather, we lose/misplace these items in order for us to pray to and have a relationship with Hashem.
