IDF Planned Special Iraqi Mission

The IDF General Staff's elite special-operations force known
as Sayeret Matkal, trained in 1992 to assassinate Iraqi
leader Saddam Hussein by sending commandos to Iraq who would
fire sophisticated missiles at him during the funeral of his
father-in-law. The plan was canceled after an accident that
resulted in the deaths of five soldiers that took place in
the presence of the IDF commander at the time, Ehud Barak.
Sharon Predicts Qurei will Fall

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei's government will
collapse within six months, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon
predicted. Sharon made the comment during consultations with
his advisors on a major diplomatic speech that he plans to
deliver at the Herzliya Conference at the end of this week.
He claimed that the American administration shares this
assessment.

Call to Stand Firm Against "Chareidi Yeshiva High
Schools"

Rabbonim and educations have been speaking out on the need to
stand firm against renewed attempts by figures at "yeshiva
high schools" to persuade parents of talmidim studying
at talmudei Torah and other chareidi institutions to
send their children to institutions that offer a mixture of
limudei kodesh and limudei chol.

MK Rabbi Gafni: Chareidi Education Institutions will not
Commit to Core Curriculum Program

MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, speaking from the Knesset rostrum,
declared that the chareidi education system would not consent
to sign any affirmation regarding the Core Curriculum program
the Education Ministry is seeking to impose on every
educational framework in the State of Israel.
Thousands of Non-Jews Liable to be Assimilated in the
Guise of Citizenship

Yet another grave breach threatens to bring tens of thousands
of non-Jews into Kerem Yisroel under the guise of
Israeli citizenship. Interior Minister Avrohom Poraz of
Shinui intends to table a proposed Cabinet decision before
the government that would allow him to grant citizenship to
tens of thousands of foreigners currently ineligible for
citizenship or residency.
Buying Produce from Businesses that Take Ma'aser
Oni

Following extensive preparation by mehadrin kashrus
organizations to carry out the procedures associated with the
ma'aser oni year (this year) at all points of sale --
removing and giving produce to tzedokoh organizations
with which an authorization agreement has been signed--the
list of stores that fulfill the mitzvah of giving ma'aser
oni under the supervision of selected kashrus
organizations was recently printed in the Hebrew edition of
Yated Ne'eman.
Huge Moonies Convention in Jerusalem

Members of the International Inter-Religious Association for
World Peace have been making concerted efforts to penetrate
chareidi areas in Jerusalem. On Monday Mayor Lupoliansky
asked the heads of community administrations not to cooperate
with this dangerous missionary organization.
UTJ Protests NRP's Consent to Transfer Rabbinate Botei

Uva'avod reshoim rinoh -- There is rejoicing at the
destruction of evil ones (Mishlei 11:10). The capture
of Saddam Hussein, despotic ruler of Iraq for 35 years, is
certainly an occasion for rejoicing.
