Thousands of avreichim and bnei Torah have
asked to join the Daf Yomi study and testing program
sponsored by the Dirshu Hashem Ve'uzo, a worldwide foundation
to promote Torah study. The program swung into operation last
Sunday when the Daf Yomi program began maseches
Chulin.
Gedolei Yisroel encouraged Dirshu heads and backed the
new study program, which was designed with constant input
from HaRav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz to help avreichim
achieve broader knowledge of Shas.
Without interfering with regular kollel studies the
program provides avreichim extra encouragement to add
onto their bekiyus learning to complement their
primary iyun study. The first test will be held at the
beginning of Adar. The Daf Yomi testing program is intended
only for avreichim learning two complete
sedorim. A second option is also available for those
who are not learning in a kollel all day, but the
amount of the stipend will be half the other one.
Dirshu directors decided to appoint a special testing team
comprised of HaRav Boruch Dov Diskin and HaRav Bunim
Schreiber.
Thousands of avreichim and bnei Torah,
talmidei chachomim and roshei kollelim from all
backgrounds recently contacted the Dirshu hotline asking to
join the new program and are now receiving further
details.
