U.K. Chief Rabbi's Warning of Rising Antisemitism
Confirmed by Survey
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Jews in Britain are suffering from levels of antisemitism not
known since the Holocaust, according to United Kingdom Chief
Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Sacks. Also, a report just published by
the Community Security Trust, an organization dedicated to
Jewish security issues, found that antisemitism has risen
sharply in the past two years.
Violence in Eretz Hakodesh
by Mordecai Plaut
The shaken residents of Eretz Yisroel tried to continue with
their regular affairs, shaken by the rising violence and
cruelty of the Palestinian attacks on innocent children,
women and peaceful citizens.
HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman on Chizuk Visit to
France
by Arnon Yaffeh, Paris and Yated Ne'eman Staff
On Sunday 19 Adar, HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman arrived
in France in order to strengthen the Torah institutions in
Paris and Aix-les-Bains, and especially to encourage families
to send their children to yeshiva ketanos. Though he
remained in France for just over a day, his visit had a great
impact.
Beis Yisroel: The Day After
by Betzalel Kahn
Naveh Chazan didn't expect his Shabbos bar mitzvah to end
this way. Relatives from all over the country had come to
spend Shabbos and celebrate with him in the Yeshivas Machaneh
Yisroel Shabbos Guesthouse in Jerusalem's Beis Yisroel
neighborhood.
Weekend of His'orerus
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
A kinus hizchazkus to commemorate the first
yahrtzeit of the late Sunderland Rov and rosh yeshiva,
HaRav Shammai Zahn, zt"l, culminated in a grand
melave malkah in the Gateshead shul hall.
Adass Yisroel Melbourne Celebrates 50 Years
by Shlomo Boruch Abelesz
The Melbourne chareidi Kehilla Adass Yisroel celebrated 50
years since the official establishment of its mosdos
hachinuch in 1952. It is the first time in the Kehilla's
history that the members have allowed themselves such a `pat
on the back' and it was a step taken only after much thought
and debate.
The Yahrtzeit of the Holy Rebbetzin of the Dubno
Maggid
To The Editor:
For many generations now, the name of the holy Rebbetzin of
the Maggid of Dubno zt"l has escaped us. There has
never been a mention of this tzadeikes in all the
encyclopedia and Jewish Heritage volumes and in fact, some
authors have confused the name of the Maggid's mother, the
Rebbetzin Hinda zt"l (who was the daughter of Rabbi
Nochum of Kobryn) with the name of his wife.

The Rambam's Insight into Our Arab Problem
It is interesting -- and perhaps more surprising than it
should be -- that we can find a thoroughly appropriate
description of our predicament and our feelings in words
written over 800 years ago by that great sage who provides us
with so much guidance in so much of what we do: the
Rambam.

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
Taking Things Apart
by R' Zvi Zobin
One of the most enjoyable and educational things you can buy
your boy (and girl?) is a set of screwdrivers. Having done
that, you also need to supply him with things to take apart.
If you don't, you risk being greeted with a triumphant, "Look
what I did, Abba!" and seeing the innards of your favorite
appliance spread over the table.
