Targum/Feldheim 183 pages
A great name for a book, no? And it's a great book, too,
which you will have to agree, since you are fans of Yated
Ne'eman International, and the stories in this compact
little softcover volume have appeared, at some time or other,
in the Family Section.
I have always felt it a pity that the wonderful material that
sifts through my fingers will only last for a week.
Eventually, the newspaper will be separated for geniza
and trash, even if it is passed on half a dozen times in
between. But who is going to cut out articles to reread?
So, here it is, thanks to Tzivia Ehrlich-Klein who edited and
helped see this project through to fruition.
When I was asked to fill the blank page inside the front of
the book with some kind of dedication, I came up with the
(excerpted) following:
"My thanks, daily and hourly, are to Hashem, Who gives me
inspiration, Who plants ideas into my head, and Who endows me
with whatever wisdom I have exhibited in molding the Home and
Family section of Yated Ne'eman International.
"One of the best things that has ever happened to me was
becoming the editor of this section. It has been my privilege
and pleasure to meet, at least on paper, numerous talented
people who have a message to convey and lessons to teach us
as human beings striving to do credit to our Creator and live
our lives in the fullest way possible.
"It has been my greatest joy and privilege to take credit in
discovering talent heretofore unpublished (Rifca Goldberg,
Bruchie Laufer, Anni Rephun Fruchter, Miriam Steinberg and
more), and to coax excellent material from those who have
already seen works in print.
"My thanks and deep respect go to all the writers who appear
here who have enriched my life. I am sure that the selections
in this book will enrich the lives of the readers, as well,
and provide inspiration and quality entertainment for years
to come."

We have attempted to present some vintage essays and more
recent material to create a rich balance of serious and
light, prose and poetry. You'll find a piece written almost
ten years ago by yours truly on Kiryat Mattersdorf, a non-
professional sociological study. Sharing the stage are pieces
on nostalgia, fiction, thoughts, essays with historical
highlights. Favorites by: Sudy Rosengarten, Rosally Saltsman,
Leah Subar, Malka Adler, Varda Branfman, Dov Patkin (o.b.m.),
A. Ross and those already mentioned previously, yours and my
favorite authors!
Hope you find the "flavor" just right.
Next book already in preparation. This one is available at
all bookstores, popularly priced. ASK FOR IT. A great slip-
into-the-pocket gift to carry along, to give to hosts, new
mothers, impulse giving to someone you like...
