three half shekels as a zecher of the machtzis
hashekel.
Purim falls on Tuesday, 14 Adar (Feb. 26) and Shushan Purim

Israel Worried About Massive Terror Attacks
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
The Israeli defense establishment has been preparing for
large-scale terror attacks since the September 11 attacks on
New York and Washington, a top security source told
Ha'aretz. We must prepare to our utmost, but in the
end, im Hashem lo yishmor ir, shov shokad shomer, our
efforts are for naught if Hashem does not protect us.
Purim Torah -- In all Seriousness
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Greetings, rosh yeshivas Mordechai HaTzaddik. I would like
to ask you about the rumors regarding Yeshivas Mordechai
HaTzaddik . . .
Sorry to interrupt you, but I'm in a hurry. I have to get to
one of the branches of the yeshiva.
HaRav Scheinberg Conquers Hearts And Minds in Gateshead
By Rabbi M.D. Spiro
HaRav Scheinberg's recent visit to Gateshead has shaken just
about every local Jewish heart. He spent last Tuesday in
Gateshead and, in barely more than 24 hours, the venerable
Rosh Yeshiva managed to touch and warm the hearts of great
Torah scholars and young children alike.
A Massive Gathering in Paris in Torah's Honor
by Arnon Yaffe
"In Paris, today, there is a chiddush: masses flock to
a gathering like this in honor of Torah," HaRav Mattisyahu
Salomon, the mashgiach of the Lakewood yeshiva in the United
States, said in his speech at the dinner of the Yad Mordechai
institutions. "I call upon all of the Jews here: give me the
nefesh. Send your sons and daughters to Torah
institutions, so that they won't be lost."
Secular Students Inspired by Shabbos in Bnei Brak
by Moshe Schapiro
For each of the last four years, Lev L'Achim has enrolled
thousands of secular children in Torah schools. But that,
says enrollment worker Rabbi Shraga Elfer, is the easy part.
Getting them to stay there -- and to become religious Jews --
is a difficult, multistep process.

Dispersed and Separated Among the Nations
Rovo said: There is no one who knew loshon hora as
well as Homon. Loshon hora always refers to telling
the truth, albeit in a destructive way. So Homon, in his
arguments to Achashverosh about destroying all the Jews, was
telling the truth about us.
